Pre-Con Manager - Full-time / Part-time

Summary
Per Sé Group is working with a leading Mid-Atlantic Mechanical contractor looking to hire a Preconstruction Manager in their Baltimore office. This role will focus on estimating, buy-out, procurement, and detailed submittal documentation for large commercial and industrial construction projects. Plumbing and process piping experience is preferred, HVAC experience is a bonus.

 

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain budget control over Mechanical & Plumbing scopes during preconstruction phases of the project.
• Manage estimate compilation including analysis of takeoff, subcontractor scoping, general conditions, labor mix, etc
• Coordinate bid efforts, process RFI’s, and interface between bidding community and design team members on negotiated projects
• Assist field operations with change order pricing
• Maintain working knowledge of MEP codes and changes to codes
• Assist in the development and training of estimating staff
• Assist the marketing department in preparation of responses to Request for Proposals and Request for Qualifications
• Assist in the trade partner prequalification process
• Develops and maintains internal client relationships
• Lead estimate review and bid process team meetings
• Prepare contractual exhibits for scope of work for subcontractors
• Review labor productivity rates of current and past projects to maintain an understanding of the operation team’s capabilities.

 

Preferred Skills and Expertise

• 10+ years of estimating/pre-con experience in Mechanical construction coming out of a mechanical contractor
• Large-scale commercial and/or industrial construction project background required
• BS in Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering preferred
