Respiratory Care Practitioner




Position Summary: Per Diem

Respiratory care practitioners at Shoshone Medical Center are an integral part of the patient care team, maintaining and promoting open and honest relationships with customers and co-workers in a RICH working environment. Responsible for independently performing respiratory care and interventions. This position requires the ability to interpret and follow physician orders, provide skilled and discipline-specific therapeutic services, evaluate patient response, assess patient needs, develop care plans and participate in interdisciplinary therapy collaboration. Performs cardiopulmonary testing and assists with the diagnosis and management of patients with cardio pulmonary disorders.

Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy required or US Military equivalent along with a minimum of Associate’s degree – Bachelors of Respiratory Therapy preferred but not required.
  • Certified (CRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care – RRT preferred but not required
  • Licensed as Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) with the state of Idaho
  • Current BLS/CPR certification required
  • ACLS & PALS certified within 6 months of hire
  • Be able to exhibit excellent customer service and communication
  • Must be able to remain calm in emergency situations
  • Experience preferred but not necessary.
