WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN A HIGH SCHOOL MENTAL HEALTH ADVOCATE

  • Master's degree in behavioral sciences (social work, counseling, or psychology)
  • Ability to flexibly adapt to school policies and schedules
  • Capability to work remotely
  • Experience in a school setting is preferred

YOUR NEW ROLE

This full-time counseling role keeps a regular schedule of 40 hours weekly, most of which is on-site at the school, according to the school system's administrative calendar.

When you work as Warren County High School's Mental Health Advocate, your days are filled with purpose as you implement vital services to foster our students' well-being. Each day you bring your expertise to the table, promoting trauma-informed practices that benefit students with Social Emotional Disturbance (SED) or those at risk of mental health or substance use disorders. Working within the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) framework, you dedicate eighty percent of your efforts to universal Tier I services, ensuring every student receives the support they need. The remaining twenty percent involves personalized interventions tailored to individual needs. Your role is dynamic and engaging, from conducting training sessions for school personnel to facilitating School Climate Activities that promote a positive learning environment. You provide individual and group interventions for students, addressing their mental health needs with care and compassion. With your meticulous record-keeping and unwavering commitment to legal and ethical compliance, you ensure that our service delivery standards remain top-notch. As you maintain collaborative relationships with the school, families, and the wider community, you're truly at the heart of our efforts to promote student well-being.
