Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all purchasing activities, ensuring adherence to procedures and compliance with internal control frameworks.

  • Interpret and apply best practices established by Corporate Procurement, educating and guiding buyers accordingly.

  • Review and approve purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with payment terms.

  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for purchasing, contributing to purchasing performance management.

  • Negotiate pricing and contracts with suppliers, mitigating risks and reducing dependency on single-source vendors.

  • Maintain and follow standard operating procedures, ensuring cross-training of personnel for coverage.

Position Success Measures (KPIs):

  • Raw Material Inventory levels and accuracy

  • Purchasing Savings (PPM)

  • LCC spend

  • Internal Control compliance

  • Supplier Charter (% signed)

  • EcoVadis (% surveys completed)

  • Use of e-tools

  • BBS/SMAT / EMAT

Magnitude:

  • Signing Responsibility: <$100K

  • P&L Responsibility: $15 MM


Requirements

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field required.

  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred.

Work Experience:

  • 10+ years of work experience in a manufacturing environment, with expertise in procurement.

  • SAP knowledge preferred.

  • Experience in Planning, Production, Purchasing, or Customer Service beneficial.

Practical/Technical Knowledge:

  • Understanding of Six Sigma & Lean Manufacturing concepts preferred.

  • Negotiation Skills required.

  • Team leadership skills required.

  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, required.

Leadership:

  • Understanding of the impact of decisions throughout the organization required.

  • Hands-on leadership style required.

  • Effective coaching techniques required.

Communicating and Influencing Skills:

  • Ability to present complex ideas simply and clearly to all organizational levels required.

  • Active listening skills required.

  • Outstanding influencing and negotiation skills required.

Problem Solving:

  • Ability to solve problems effectively required.

Special Instructions or Work Requirements:

  • Typical Weightlifting Requirement: Pushing/Pulling/Lifting Requirements - 15 lbs.

Travel Requirements:

  • Minimal travel required for corporate-sponsored meetings and supplier visits - <10%
