NDT Technician - Now Hiring

Position Summary:

Perform non-destructive testing and inspection of products to evaluate quality or performance using related equipment. Interpret, evaluate, and document test results in accordance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, or procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform skills and competencies as outlined in the NDT Technician Skills Matrix at the applicable skill level. See Addendum A attached herein.
• Interpret or evaluate test results in accordance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, or procedures.
• Interpret the results of all methods of non-destructive testing (NDT), such as acoustic emission, electromagnetic, leak, liquid penetrant, magnetic particle, ultrasonic, and visual testing.
• Examine structures using non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques.
• Select, calibrate, or operate equipment used in the non-destructive testing (NDT) of products or materials.
• Identify defects in solid materials using ultrasonic testing techniques as Company scope dictates.
• Prepare reports on non-destructive testing (NDT) results.
• Document non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, processes, or results.
• Supervise or direct the work of non-destructive testing (NDT) trainees or staff.
• Map the presence of imperfections within objects, using NDT methods.
• Conduct liquid penetrant tests to locate surface cracks by coating objects with fluorescent dyes, cleaning excess penetrant, and applying developer.
• Visually examine materials or components for signs of corrosion, metal fatigue, cracks, or other flaws.
• Perform work duties according to all safety standards, policies, procedures, and rules as set by federal and state regulations and the Company. Maintain a safe and clean work environment. Support the Company’s Safety Initiatives.
• Perform work duties according to, and in support of, organizational quality management system standards.
• Other duties as required.

Minimum Education/Training/ Experience:

• High school diploma or GED Equivalent.
• Certification in non-destructive testing concepts/environments.
• Minimum of 3 years of conducting NDT experience including the evaluation and interpretation of test results.
• Prior training in various testing concepts/environments such as non-destructive, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant, electromagnetic, phased array ultrasonic, visual, ultrasonic, boresonic, etc.
• Ability to apply principles of rational systems to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or diagrammatic form.
• Proficient in using testing and measurement tools such as micrometers, oscilloscopes, voltage or current meters, various gauging, etc.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, instructions in the use and maintenance of NDT testing and measurement tools and equipment, and methods and procedures in operations sheets and hand sketches.
• Near vision acuity with ability to see details at close range.
