We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Attorney to join our dynamic team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on a wide variety of legal matters, ranging from estate planning, real estate, business law, mediation, agriculture law, to family law. The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful legal work and gain hands-on experience in a supportive and collaborative environment.

This is an on-site opportunity in Albert Lea, MN, must be willing to relocate.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide sound legal advice and representation to clients in estate planning, real estate, business law, mediation, agriculture law, and family law.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents including wills, trusts, real estate contracts, business agreements, and more.
  • Represent clients in court or before government agencies, presenting evidence to defend or prosecute in civil or criminal litigation.
  • Conduct research and analysis of legal problems to interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
  • Mediate disputes and guide clients through legal issues, using negotiation skills and strategies to avoid litigation when possible.
  • Develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases.
  • Maintain client relationships and confidentiality, providing excellent customer service and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Stay updated on new laws, regulations, and industry trends that may affect our clients or the field of practice.

Qualifications:

  • Earned J.D. and has passed the bar exam, or plans to take the bar exam by the end of 2024
  • Excellent communicator and active listener
  • Possesses a welcoming, relatable, and personable attitude, as well as a sensitivity and compassion for the nature of estate planning work
  • Self-motivated and a team player who’s eager to take on responsibility and grow inside a small firm
  • Experience in family law, real estate, or estate planning is a plus, but not required
