Assistant Chief Nursing Officer

ACNO

The Assistant CNO provides clinical leadership in conjunction with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) and assumes the responsibility for nursing administrative decisions in the absence of the CNO. Areas of focus include nursing staffing and assignments, performance evaluation, clinical and administrative decision-making related to nursing care, and continuous improvement of nursing and rehabilitative care. The Assistant CNO is responsible and accountable for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and maintaining quality nursing care on the unit. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. This is an exempt position and must have the ability to work evenings, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Training: Must possess RN licensure in good standing in the state where the hospital resides. Bachelor degree preferred.

Experience: Regardless of degree (AD, Diploma, Bachelors, Masters) a minimum of five years of clinical nursing experience is required and three years of experience in nursing management preferred. Current BLS and ACLS required. Certification in a specified field preferred (CNE, CRRN, CCRN, PCCN).
