Sterile Processing Technician Instructor

Location: Lehi, UT

Status: Full-Time

Hours: Day (Monday - Friday), Time (8:00 a.m – 5:00 p.m.)

Pay / Salary: $48,640 - 53,500, depending on experience

SUMMARY

As the Sterile Processing Instructor, you will teach and develop curriculum on all aspects of the sterile processing field, including: instrument assembly and wrapping, decontamination, sterilization methods, sterile storage and picking daily scheduled cases for the operating rooms. You will provide hands-on instruction for the students, fostering an environment that encourages student engagement, critical thinking, and skill development. This position involves collaboration with the lead instructor, staying up to date with industry standards, and ensuring students are equipped with the knowledge and practical skills required for success as a sterile processing technician.

STERILE PROCESSING TECHNICIAN INSTRUCTOR - RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide effective instruction and facilitate student learning for the program.
  • Work with other faculty and administrators to build and/or maintain curriculum with clear learning objectives. This includes textbook and software selection.
  • Develop and/or maintain lesson plans for classroom and lab activities.
  • Teach and require safety as a regular daily component of skill practice
  • Schedule, supervise, debrief, and evaluate students in lab, clinical, externship, or other work-based learning activities
  • Perform evaluations of student learning, using course objectives as a guide
  • Respond promptly to student concerns and/or appeals

STERILE PROCESSING TECHNICIAN INSTRUCTOR - QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Current Sterile Processing Technician CRCST certification obtained through HSPA and maintained as current throughout employment
  • Minimum three years of experience working as a Sterile Processing Technician.
  • Education and Leadership preferred
