Financial Analyst Product Cost

Description

Reporting to the Plant Controller, this role is responsible for supporting the plant operations function. Key responsibilities include setting and maintaining standard costs for multiple product lines; estimating product costs for new and existing products; investigating month-to-month variance in costs – standard vs current costs; reporting KPIs related to product costs and inventory; analyzing material and LOH variances; supporting cost reduction initiatives and annual forecasts/AOP.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Determine and maintain standard costs and investigate month-to-month variance in product costs
  • Estimate product costs for new products and changes to existing products
  • Analyze material and LOH variances and resulting impact to product cost - standard vs current costs
  • Monitor, analyze and report key performance indicators (KPIs) related to product costs and inventory
  • Support Annual Operating Plan development and forecasting activities
  • Support continuous improvement projects and cost reduction efforts related to Blue Bird manufacturing.
  • Prepare timely reports and presentations to finance and operations management highlighting key financial insights
  • Support internal and external audits and Ad Hoc projects and analysis, as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to reconcile large data sets and intermediate to advanced level skills in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and Business Intelligence reporting tools
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present complex data to a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritize and perform in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to thrive in a team-based environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal customers
  • Continuously perform to high ethical standards and those established from an Internal Controls/Legal perspective.
EDUCATION AND EXPEREINCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business (Finance, Accounting, Economics, Operations, Supply Chain or related field)
  • 2-4 years of experience in a similar role

Education
Preferred
Bachelors or better.
