Smooj/HOMES is a thriving community of food and beverage businesses in Ann Arbor, MI. We operate a nationally acclaimed production brewery, brewpub, commissary kitchen, coffee shop and roaster, alongside events & catering. The future Cellarperson will start by learning how to actually make our beer and other beverages from start to finish. The equipment that you will be learning on is state of the art. Key traits of this position: attention to detail, strategic problem-solving, and being mechanically inclined. What You’ll Do:

  • Support the team from start to finish in beer and beverage production, with a dedication to quality assurance and quality control
  • Effectively communicate with the production staff to facilitate consistency while bringing fresh ideas and techniques to the brewing conversation
  • Use technical skills to learn and operate advanced production equipment like: rotary canning line, centrifuge, fermentation and packaging tanks, in-line carbonation equipment, carton and case builders, fork and scissor lifts, nitrogen generators, and much more......

Requirements

Who You Are:

  • Passionate about the beer and beverage industry, with a desire to learn and grow
  • Team player, optimistic, empathetic, able to work through conflict constructively
  • Interested in the mechanical side of beverage production, detail-oriented, and ready to problem-solve
  • Able to stand for long periods of time, bend, occasionally lift heavy objects and safely transport product

What You’ll Bring:

  • Experience in beverage production (preferred)
  • Mechanical and/or engineering experience (preferred)
  • Forklift certification (a plus, but not required, we train)
  • OSHA certification (a plus, but not required)

Schedule: Full-time (35-40 hours) \ Part-time (15-25 hours per week)

Pay: $14-22 (depending on experience)
