Line Cook

Looking for people with a passion for food and time management abilities who can provide our guests with an exceptional dining experience. Our restaurant is where small-town and finer dining meet and we need competent and experienced line cooks who can ensure that our meals are made precisely to guest orders while still following our standard recipes consistently. You may need to work a variety of stations on any given shift and must be adept in poaching, braising, roasting, grilling, sautéing, and frying. You need to be a team player who can effectively communicate with other kitchen staff to keep things running efficiently. $16 - $20 hourly

• Portion and preparation of food items, including fish, beef, chicken, pork, etc., as prescribed by company specifications
• Preparation of sauces and/or garnishes as required by company specifications related to the specific menu item
• Performs related work as assigned and as circumstance requires
• Be able to interact with vendors and customers when needed
• Set up food stations and prepare the needed items for service
• Keep all workstations, counters, equipment and other kitchen areas clean and sanitary according to health and safety guidelines
• Guarantee that food quality is adhered to, properly store food and items, while meeting waste control requirements
• Follow established recipes and prepare foods to presentation standards

• Display excellent communication and interpersonal skills with customers and coworkers
• Ability to understand and comply with kitchen sanitation, safety and equipment usage, and food storage
• Prior food service industry experience is highly desired
• Candidates must be hardworking, detail-oriented, and have a strong work ethic
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent GED certification

• Possess strong work ethic
• Ability to produce an excellent culinary and restaurant experience for patrons
• Excellent time management, scheduling, managerial, and organizational skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with a variety of personalities and under pressure

Education and Experience:

• Experience in food preparation work preferred
• Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent is preferred
• Must meet the minimum age requirement as prescribed by law
• Possess or willing to obtain a valid Food Handler Certificate

Physical Requirements: 

• Prolonged periods of standing and preparing and cooking food
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
• Must be able to work in a kitchen environment that may involve exposure to extreme heat or cold
