Boat Driver - Stout's Island Lodge

Stout’s Island Lodge is a magical resort located on an island in the middle of Red Cedar Lake near Rice Lake, WI.  Our resort is well known for providing superior customer service, we are seeking to hire individuals who will honor and uphold this tradition.

Our Boat Driver staff serve a vital function for the entire resort. They must serve as a hub for communication between guests and all staff during a guest’s stay.  Our Boat Driver staff will be the first person a guest will see at Stout’s Island Lodge and sets the expectations of our guests.  During a guest’s stay, the Boat Driver must ensure that the guests are properly greeted and checked in, their luggage get tagged and all get brought to our island.  Once transported to the island the Boat Driver gives the guests a tour of the island as they are being taken to their rooms.  Atfterwhich the Boat Driver will take the luggage to the rooms and the guests will be on their way to enjoy the Island of Happy Days!  As unfortunate as it may seem, guests do have to leave the island.  That is where the Boat Driver, in conjucntion with the Office staff,  get the luggage picked up from the guests rooms and put on the ferry and together they are taken to shore. 

When not fullfiling those hourly requirements, the Boat Driver is tasked with many other functions: collection and removal from island of garbage, propane tanks, food stuffs, event supplies, to name a few.  Upkeep of grounds, golf carts, cabins, pontoons, and docks also fall under the responsibilities of the Boat Driver. Boat Driver's can also be expected to assist in the kitchen, with housekeeping and with events when necessary.  

Minor maintenance skills are a plus in this positionand you may be asked to perform duties of other departments.  Individuals who succeed in this role are excellent problem solvers, multitaskers, resourceful, and handle stress well.  They will also have excellent communication skills.
