Custodian

Job Summary:

The ACCS Custodian should strive to create a clean, safe, spiritually nurturing, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and visitors. As a vital member of our educational community, the Custodian plays an essential role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the school facilities while demonstrating Christian virtues in their work and interactions.

Responsibilities:

1. Cleaning and Maintenance:

- Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting classrooms, hallways, offices, restrooms, and common areas, ensuring a neat and organized learning environment.

2. Faithful Stewardship:

- Show respect and care for school property, treating all resources as gifts, and ensuring their proper use and maintenance.

3. Integrity and Honesty:

- Uphold Christian values of honesty and integrity in all aspects of the custodial role, working diligently and responsibly.

4. Compassion and Kindness:

- Demonstrate compassion and kindness towards students, staff, and visitors, offering a friendly presence and supportive attitude.

5. Service to Others:

- Embody the spirit of service, being responsive to the needs of the school community and seeking opportunities to assist others when necessary.

6. Safety and Security:

- Ensure the safety and security of the school premises by promptly addressing potential hazards and reporting any safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.

7. Environmental Stewardship:

- Promote eco-friendly practices, such as recycling and energy conservation, to contribute positively to God's creation.

8. Cooperation and Teamwork:

- Collaborate with fellow staff and school employees, fostering a harmonious and collaborative work environment.

Qualifications:

- Strong personal faith and commitment to Christian values, with an ability to integrate these values into all aspects of Custodial duties.

- Prior experience in custodial work, preferably in an educational setting, with an understanding of cleaning techniques and maintenance practices.

- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

- Meticulous approach to cleaning and an eye for detail to maintain the high cleanliness standards of ACCS.

- Excellent communication skills, treating others with respect and kindness, while also being able to follow instructions and provide updates as needed.

- Dependable and punctual in attendance, understanding the importance of fulfilling custodial duties consistently.

- Pass criminal background check
