We are recruiting a Compliance Coordinator to join our team of health care professionals. As a Compliance Coordinator you will be responsible for providing support in developing and managing the pharmacy’s compliance and regulatory programs. The Compliance Coordinator will be responsible for tracking, coordinating, and maintaining all pharmacy licenses, including monitoring all staff licensure to ensure the organization meets all state and regulatory requirements. Supports all matters relating to the Company’s Compliance program, including but not limited to monitoring and evaluating laws, rules, regulations and licensure, as well as facilitating the organization’s accreditations, policies and procedures, and audits. Performs related research, communicates requirements, and prepares materials and documentation to support legal and regulatory needs.

Job type: Full-time

Salary Range: $66,000 - $74,200 annually, depending on experience.

Position responsibilities:
  1. Supports and works closely with Compliance Officer and Pharmacist In Charge to ensure the organization’s compliance program and regulatory requirements are adhered to with precision, thoroughness, and consistency.
  2. Interacts with government agencies, state boards of pharmacy, accreditation authorities, and other organizations as appropriate.
  3. Coordinates the monitoring, assessment, and documentation of updates in pharmacy laws, rules and regulations and assists with maintaining affected policies and procedures.
  4. Responsible for administration and coordination of accreditation requirements and associated policy and procedure documentation and processes, including but not limited to maintenance of job descriptions, training records, license verifications and policy and procedure review and approvals. Responsible for monitoring and staying informed of changes to applicable accreditation standards.
  5. Prepares accurate and thoroughly reviewed documentation, applications and other supporting materials necessary to fulfill requirements of the position including but not limited to license renewals, agency and board communication, accreditations, and other enrollments and registrations.
  6. Utilizes and manages effective regulatory tracking documents and tools.
  7. Performs and maintains records of compliance checks as required including but not limited to regular federal exclusion searches for all employees, interns, and governing body members, as well as primary source verifications for all licensed roles and employees.
  8. Conduct audits as assigned and effectively generate finding reports in all areas of corporate compliance including trainings, policies, and safety.
  9. Communicates identified deficiencies and audit results to all necessary levels of the organization and coordinates updates and communication of corrections/improvements.
  10. Assists in building and conducting compliance risk assessments.
  11. Assists with the administration, review, and monitoring of all aspects of the Safety Program including participation in the safety committee, injury prevention, and emergency planning.
  12. Monitors and responds appropriately to both internal and external communication in a professional and timely manner. Seeks PIC or Legal approval prior to external communication as required.
  13. Demonstrates the behavioral and technical competencies necessary to effectively complete job responsibilities at performance expectations.
  14. Coordinates with all internal departments and affiliate company Moda Health support departments as needed to accomplish responsibilities.
  15. Performs responsibilities as directed, achieving desired results within expected time frames with a high degree of quality and professionalism.
  16. Establishes and maintains a positive and productive work relationship with all staff and clients.
  17. Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be revised from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position.
  18. Actively participates and provides support as needed to leadership and quality program staff to ensure activities related to the company’s quality management program and quality improvement activities maintain priority focus and are effectively executed. This may include but is not limited to activities that promote objective and systematic measurement, monitoring, and evaluation of services and defined Quality Improvement Projects (QIPs) that may result from such efforts.
  19. Actively participates as a member of Quality Management Committee (QMC).
  20. Complies with the company’s Human Resources policies, Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct, and all department policies and procedures, including protecting confidential company, employee, and customer information; attending work punctually and regularly; and adhering to good safety practices in all activities.
  21. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties and special projects as assigned.

Required skills:
  1. Education and experience
    1. Required:
      1. High school diploma or GED.
      2. Notary Public Certification or ability to obtain a Notary Public Certification within 6 months of hire.
    2. Preferred:
      1. One to three years’ experience in the legal, regulatory, or healthcare compliance field.
      2. Experience dealing in a regulated environment involving compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
      3. Experience effectively managing a heavy administrative workload with complex regulatory requirements and strict deadlines.

    10. Must be able to compose and edit a range of technical, procedural, and communications documents and other written materials.
    11. Must be able to consistently work with confidential and proprietary materials and strictly maintain confidentiality.
  3. Working conditions
    1. Work is performed primarily at a desk, with extensive keyboard work in a stationary position.
    2. Business needs may occasionally require work in excess of 40 hours per week, including work outside of standard work week.
  4. Contact with others:
    1. Internally with employees across multiple departments.
    2. Externally with business partners, vendors, accrediting organizations, and clients.
