Title: Quality Lab Associate I
Location: Marion, NC
Starts with 7months contract

12 hour rotating shift
Conduct sampling and qualitative and quantitative chemical analysis on raw materials, solutions, and components following approved Standard Operating Procedures and test methods in an accurate and timely manner.
Job Responsibilities
• Perform aseptic microbiological and chemical sampling in cleanroom and facility environments 
• Obtain samples from manufacturing environment, ensuring sample integrity and identity
• Analyze organic or inorganic compounds to determine chemical or physical properties using chromatography, spectroscopy, or spectrophotometry techniques.
• Enter data into Laboratory Management system (LIMs)
• Prepare test solutions, compounds, standards or reagents for laboratory personnel to conduct tests.
• Learn, understand and apply rigorous quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
• Follow laboratory safety procedures to ensure compliance with standards or to make improvements as needed.
• Follow manufacturing area safety procedures to ensure compliance with standards during sampling process
• Monitor operational procedures in technical environments to ensure conformance to standards.
• Operate lab equipment such as pipets, burets, balances, hot plates, etc.
• Review samples received, logs samples, and enter data into computer database (LIMS)
• Responsible for general housekeeping of laboratory and test suites
• Sustain a clean and safe work environment utilizing 6S principles
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Trained in aseptic sampling techniques
• Computer literate/knowledge of Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel)
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Must have a basic understanding of laboratory instrumentation
• Good documentation skills and knowledge of GDPs (Good Documentation Practices)
• Able to manage multiple tasks/priorities in a timely manner 
• Familiarity with LIMS (or equivalent system) and TrackWise
• Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisors and peers 
• Must be have basic knowledge of general chemistry techniques
Required Education and Experience
• Associates degree in biological or chemical sciences or professional certification preferred.
• 0-2 years of experience in the field or related area.
