Description:

Nestled in the hills of Western MA, Snow Farm: The New England Craft Program, (), a residential, non-profit craft school that welcomes over 1,100 adult and high school students to its campus in Williamsburg each year, is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic marketing manager who has a proven track record to actively oversee and manage marketing, communication and promotion of Snow Farm’s programs and events.  

The Marketing Manager will strategically utilize a non-profit’s unique position and resources to increase awareness, acquisition, engagement, and monetization of all of Snow Farm’s vibrant craft/fine arts programming which includes 200+ workshops, independent and winter residencies, a 4-week High School Summer camp, access programs such as Work Study and Workshop Access, and our fundraising event, The Seconds Sale.  As a non-profit organization, Snow Farm maximizes a multi-platform marketing strategy with a strong emphasis on digital marketing to support over $1.5 m in earned income. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Website Experience Optimization

Ensuring Snow Farm’s website offers a seamless and engaging user experience, with updated and relevant content and images, optimized navigation, and fast loading times. This includes collaborating with web developers and designers for necessary updates and improvements including preparing for the annual registration launch of over 200 workshops in January. 

Email Marketing 

Designing and executing email campaigns via Constant Contact that nurture leads, engage customers, and drive conversions. Responsibilities include managing email lists, segmenting audiences for targeted campaigns, and analyzing and optimizing for campaign effectiveness. Marketing & Development Assistant supports this area.

Analytics and Reporting 

Utilizing analytics tools to track the performance of digital media activities, including social media engagement, email campaign metrics, website traffic and user behavior, and community engagement levels. Using these insights to inform future strategies and report on ROI. 

Increase Social Media Engagement in Defined Communities and Target Audiences

Oversee engagement on all social media platforms to meet Snow Farm’s marketing and fundraising budgetary goals and objectives (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube). Work with Marketing Assistant to generate content ideas and evaluate data.

Increase Awareness of Events and Programs

Maintain and update content on Snow Farm’s Drupal website www.snowfarm.org, including event listings, program descriptions, and compelling imagery. Write and distribute event and program descriptions to media outlets. Create and maintain a content library of digital assets for promotional use, including images, artist biographies, program descriptions, web link.  Support Development and Fundraising campaigns and events, including Annual Appeals, and Annual Seconds Sale fundraiser.

Manage the Snow Farm Brand

Responsible for editorial direction, design, production, and distribution of all Snow Farm’s publications. 

Coordinate media interest in Snow Farm and ensure regular contact with target media and appropriate response to media requests; this position is Snow Farm’s main representative with the media. 

Manage branding graphic assets including fonts, logo, images, brochures, etc. Contract with photographers to have relevant professional images to represent our brand.  Manage the use of branding materials and writing/copy editing to unify messaging across print, email, web, social, and traditional media channels by staff.

This position reports directly to the Executive Director and manages a full-time Marketing & Development Assistant. Candidates work on premises with occasional work on nights and weekends for special events. Some remote work is available.

Flexibility: Be able to adapt to the wide-ranging tasks associated with the position from working in an office environment to working with a broad Snow Farm community of artists, Board members, press/media and professionals.

Qualifications:          

Bachelor's degree in marketing, digital media or related field required.  

8+ years of related post-graduate work experience in marketing.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and detail oriented.

A solid background in various aspects of digital marketing, such as SEO/SEM, content marketing, social media, email marketing, and online advertising.  

Demonstrated social media experience – strategy setting, resource mapping, content creation, metrics/analysis and execution of social strategy. 

Proficiency with website CMS, Facebook Business and Google Analytics, Constant Contact, Adobe Creative Suite.

Metrics-driven marketing mind with eye for creativity.

Proven experience developing marketing campaigns.

Ability to manage in a collaborative style and work closely with a small team.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Work. 

Highly organized, self-motivated, and self-directed with strong time management skills.

Ability to work effectively under pressure with tight schedules and deadlines.

Full time/Non-Exempt

Salary: $56,000 - $62,000 annual salary commensurate with experience. Benefits include: paid vacation, holidays, and sick days; $2,000 in health reimbursement. Staff members enjoy home cooked lunches May-Oct and free/reduced tuition workshops!
