Packaging Lead at Custom Pet Food Leader

Muenster Milling is expanding again! The Muenster team will be adding a high-volume packaging line to their production facility in Denton, TX. The Packaging Lead acts as a team captain responsible for being actively present on the production floor, serving as a resource to employees regarding the production process, and in conjunction with management, helps ensure all production processes follow safety, quality, and efficiency standards. This position will regularly perform production duties within the team’s responsibilities to ensure each role in the team and support when gaps exist.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Understand production schedule, priorities, and goals to communicate and support the shift team in achieving production targets

• Perform material clearance for current and upcoming product runs to communicate potential shortages or challenges in order to timely address prior to the scheduled date so that it can be addressed.

• Assist line packaging laborers to ensure successful line operations, order fulfillments and proper completion of the orders according to schedule.

• Perform line inspections routinely on machine equipment and materials to ensure packaging team is set up for success.

• Ensure products meet quality specifications by accurately conducting quality checks and sampling according to specifications.

• Prepare for changeovers (staging material requirement)

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Personal Characteristics:

• 2+ years of experience working in a production environment, food production preferred.

• 1+ year of high-speed production machinery and monitoring product quality.

• 1+ years working with machine controls and/or mechanical troubleshooting.

• Experience with a start-up line is highly preferred.

• Strong analytical, oral and written communication skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software including Excel and PowerPoint.

• Must be extremely organized, detail-oriented, able to multi-task, and prioritize multiple projects/tasks.

• Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively

Food Safety & Quality Responsibilities:

• Follow the proper hand-washing, sanitization, cleanliness, dress and grooming requirements.

• Adhere to SQF, FSMA, Sanitation, GMP’s and HACCP requirements.

• Follow the Company’s procedures and processes for food safety and worker safety.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly work within a plant environment. The work requires the ability to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and talk and listen. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 15 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud in the plant.
