Center Art LLC, managed by the Space Needle LLC, is partnering with Chihuly Studio to operate the Chihuly Garden and Glass Exhibition on the Seattle Center grounds next to the Space Needle.


GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:

The Host supports Center Art’s organization mission, vision and values by exhibiting the following behaviors: excellence, competence, collaboration, innovation, respect, personalization, accountability and ownership.

The Host is responsible for maintaining and controlling an even flow of guests seated in the dining room. Responsible for seat assignment of reservations and walk-ins. Create a memorable experience for guests using excellent guest service skills. Have a clear understanding of job specific standards and meet these expectations on a daily basis.


PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

· Promote and role model a positive and professional attitude to all team members and Chihuly Exhibition guests.

· Provide a warm and welcoming environment. You are the first and last impression.

· Processes and confirms all incoming reservation requests via phone and e-mail.

· Maximize reservation and walk-in potential without exceeding standards for number of tables per server.

· Seat all parties with reservations on time and seat walk-ins no later than quoted wait time.

· Maintain guest flow of the Bar to avoid over seating service team.

· Recognize team member strengths and seat at appropriate intervals to maintain service standards.

· Direct greeters to work in an expeditious fashion.

· Utilizing reservations software to quickly plan and re-plan seating throughout the meal period.

· Ensure that special arrangements (cakes, flowers, bottles of wine, VIPs, special billing procedures, etc.) are communicated to the server and MOD.

· Assign tables for reservations and walk-ins in an efficient manner while maintaining proper seating intervals.

· Provide greeters with table assignments.

· Provide excellent guest service at all times, welcome guest when greeters are out of lobby.

· Never leave the desk unattended while guests are in the Bar, unless relieved by a manager.

· Thank guests and provide closing comments (thank you for dining with us, have nice day or evening .etc…) to Bar guests and show our guest the exit flow to stand behind the ropes.

· Plan large parties in accordance with flow of dining room.

· Communicate with Attractions/Facilities departments regarding use of elevator, maintenance and safety issues.

· Maintain a professional attitude of cheerfulness, patience, and sincerity with our external and internal guests.

· Effectively control situations involving angry guests, and provide service recovery that exceeds the guest’s expectations.

· Effectively control situations involving intoxicated guests and execute the proper procedures in handling these guests.

· Effectively handle encounters with international guests and non-English speaking guests to ensure the same high quality service standards.

· Perform any other duties deemed necessary by Bar Management


OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Maintain the highest standards by adhering to both company and departmental standards.

· Knowledge of Chihuly Garden and Glass Exhibition policies and procedures.

· Knowledge of Fire/Safety/Life procedures.

· Promote a positive and professional attitude to all internal and external guests.

· Run food to all tables in all sections to assist other servers during “free” time.


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

· Excellent communication skills necessary.

· Requires the ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks.

· Ability to consistently perform in a manner that supports both guest satisfaction and teamwork by approaching each task and working relationship with a positive and professional attitude.

· Must have a valid Washington State Food Handler’s Permit.

· Works well with others.

· Ability to walk and stand for an entire shift.

· Typical shift is approximately 8 hours.

CGG Hourly Front Line

Full Time, Hourly Position

Hourly Rate: $19.87 - $19.87 / hour
