Role Overview:

The OSE Inspector is responsible for managing the quality and delivery of owner-supplied equipment (OSE) meeting specifications as designed by EDPR NA to ensure on-time delivery and quality of components. The OSE Equipment Expeditor & Inspector will have extensive experience in supplier quality and/or expediting and will utilize expertise to improve the quality and timely delivery of OSE to ensure it meets the project schedule by coordinating with Procurement and the project team. This is a 12-month temporary assignment with full benefits.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Serve as a key point of contact for the Technical Department to manage the quality and delivery of Owner-Supplied Equipment (OSE) and Major Project equipment to support project schedules by effectively communicating with the project teams
  • Ensure that equipment is delivered on schedule and in accordance to specifications
  • Coordinate with vendors to inspect the equipment as required to ensure quality, readiness, and the true location of components
  • Expedite equipment per agreed procurement plans as needed to support project schedule
  • Manage and maintain supplier equipment delivery schedules via regular supplier communications and site visits
  • Perform risk assessment of supplier delivery schedules and proactively develop recovery plans to mitigate delivery delays
  • Develop and provide weekly reports to management and project teams on the status of OSE and project equipment to ensure components are on track to support project plans and schedules
  • Build strong and effective relationships with internal key stakeholders and suppliers
  • Identify material and related documentation as prescribed by the purchase order/sales order or contract specifications highlighting any nonconformance or omission.

Direct reports: 0; will indirectly manage multiple internal customers and external vendors/contractors

Travel: 50-75%

Minimum Requirements:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent is required, or other related experience required.
  • 8-10 years of experience in quality, procurement, construction, transportation, logistics, and OEM manufacturing in support of construction projects is preferred
  • Strong background in inspecting and expediting equipment in support of wind, solar, and BESS
  • Experience working with vendors for solar PV’s, wind turbines, and BESS
  • Experience and proficiency in performing on-site quality system assessments and evaluating suppliers' ability to produce the needed products, processes, or services
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and Team products
  • Strong communicator who has experience working with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience working with cross-functional and international teams
  • Ability to manage multiple projects across multiple geographies
  • Able to work independently, as well as in a team environment

Physical demands & working conditions:
  • Sitting/Standing/Flexibility: Ability to frequently perform physical tasks including standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching approximately 75% of the time while on wind farm sites; ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environment
  • Walking: Ability to walk 1 mile per day, including across unpaved and rough surfaces when on wind farm sites
  • Speech/Reading: Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently and deliver a variety of instructions furnished in written verbal, diagram, or scheduled form
  • Lifting: Ability to frequently lift items weighing up to 60 pounds and to occasionally lift items weighing between 60 and 100 pounds
  • Vision/Hearing: Ability to interpret and follow a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
  • Tolerance to Extreme Weather Conditions: Ability to work in adverse weather conditions 25% of the time while on wind farm sites
  • Safety: Ability to understand and communicate safety precautions when necessary
