What You'll Do:

The Lead Host is an essential part of our goal to provide perfect guest service, the hosts will often be the first point of contact for our guests and the basis of a good first impression. The host will greet guests to the restaurant; take reservations over the phone; answer questions about the restaurant, menu, etc.; seat guests - implementing the server section chart; take and process to-go orders; assist with opening/closing tasks; and perform additional restaurant functions as necessary. The Lead Host will complete all of a host's duties while also assisting the Spencer's Manager and Assistant Manager in training the host team. This position will be the heart of the restaurant, ensuring that the tempo of service is both manageable and guest-servicing. The ideal candidate will come with a passion for food, drink, and great service; be adaptable/flexible while maintaining a positive attitude; be comfortable working under pressure and in a fast-paced environment; and have an eye for detail. Full-time, year-round position with benefits eligibility.

Position starts at $18.00/hr + Tips

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests in person and over the phone
  • Make reservations and communicate/partner with management for large groups
  • Administrate and implement restaurant reservation system (TOCK)
  • Assign and seat guests in accordance to server section chart
  • Learn menus and be able to answer questions about food, wine, and cocktails, including daily specials
  • Assist management in training host staff
  • Take and process to-go orders
  • Maintain service standards for self and rest of service staff
  • Ensure cleanliness and presentability of the facilities
  • Various other tasks as needed

What You'll Bring:

  • 1+ years full-service dining host experience, preferably fine/fine-casual dining - preferred
  • 1+ years lead or supervisory experience in restaurant setting - preferred
  • Proficient at written and verbal communication in English - required
  • Experience with restaurant reservation/seating software, TOCK preferred - preferred
  • Familiarity with Micros and NCR - preferred
