POSITION SUMMARY:

Promote a positive, professional, and welcoming atmosphere by providing excellent customer service and supervision of participants while exemplifying our YMCA values. Enthusiastically greet participants while providing friendly and efficient service at Challenge Areas for the Y.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Supervise Challenge Areas and their participants.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to participants and their parents, guardians, and families.
  • Be knowledgeable and adhere to Safety Policies, Procedures and Emergency Response Plans. Always keeping Safety at the forefront of your mind.
  • Be diligent in observing participants, being aware of any potential conflict or behavioral issues before they arise. Be prepared to confront and deal with them before they escalate.
  • Role model outstanding leadership, values, and code of conduct.
  • Provide membership information and requirements in an accurate and courteous manner.
  • Respond to participants' needs. Contact appropriate personnel when necessary. Handle complaints in a courteous manner. Effectively negotiate and resolve problems. Use appropriate forms to communicate concerns or praise.
  • Perform maintenance tasks for Challenge Areas as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be capable of assisting others at heights above 20 feet.
  • Experience leading or providing care for children is preferred.
  • Mature, responsible, easy-going individuals with good communication skills.
  • Must be able to interact with kids and adults in a positive manner, enthusiastic, flexible.
  • Must be able to align with and demonstrate the YMCA four core values on a consistent basis.
  • CPR Pro & First Aid Certification required within the first 30 days (training can be provided)
