REPORTS TO: VP of Marketing

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for product planning and maintaining communication with engineering, operations, purchasing, sales & marketing to assure seamless new product launches and management of existing product line (inventory and part numbers). This includes managing the product throughout the product life cycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, along with marketing defining the product vision to deliver winning products. It also includes working with sales, marketing and other supporting functions to ensure product revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager's job also includes ensuring that the product and efforts support the company's overall strategy and goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Define the product strategy and roadmap
Deliver accurate NPV’s with corresponding justification and project prioritization within the product line
Determine pricing and cost targets to meet revenue and profitability goals
Lead monthly cross functional gate reviews on product development programs to assure products are delivered on schedule and meet the original business case
Manages current product offering
Implements improvements when needed to keep line current
Manages slow moving/obsolete inventory
Recommend products to be discontinued or superseded within product line scope
Be an expert with respect to the competition on products within the product line
Develop the core positioning and messaging for the product
Perform product demos to consumers, customers and suppliers
With Marketing team, develop collateral required for product launches
Brief and train the internal and external sales force on any new products prior to launch
Manage or champion production issues as they arise
Actively research, plan and budget for improvements, cost reductions and new products
Represent and/or present product line at trade shows, publications etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Demonstrated knowledge of computer applications such as SAP & Microsoft office suite
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Minimum B.S. in Business, Marketing, Engineering or related degree. MBA preferred
5 year’s experience working as a product marketing professional in Powersports or a related industry
