Accounts Receivable Staff Accountant

Summary

Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC) is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant (SA) to join the finance department. The Staff Accountant role has an emphasis on accounts receivable and will assist in implementing and strengthening the revenue and grant reconciliation process and reporting system. This position will report to the Director of Finance and will work closely with the Controller. The ideal candidate supports the ACC's mission to end animal homelessness in NYC.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Record and reconcile revenue from all sources of income utilizing the accounting database (NetSuite)
  • Implement monthly review systems between the finance and development department
  • Support the DOF and collaborate with the Controller to enhance account receivable policies and procedures across all the care centers.

Salary and Benefits:

$62,400- $65,000 annually based on experience.

Qualifications:

We are looking for a highly self-motivated individual with exceptional analytical skills. Excellent organizational ability, attention to detail and accuracy, ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain consistency in work quality. Flexibility and initiative to work both independently and as part of a team with a strong work ethic and high level of integrity. Superior computer skills (MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). An interest in the health, welfare, and protection of animals is desirable.

Education and Work Experience:

An undergraduate degree is required, with a minimum of three to five years of professional experience in a nonprofit accounting/business department. Knowledge of NetSuite and/or Raiser's Edge is a plus.
