Job Description

The Predictive and Preventative Maintenance Supervisor provides leadership and guidance to the inspector and lubrication shops. This person is responsible for ensuring vibration and lubrication strategies are deployed in line with industry best practices and ensures continual improvement of asset healthcare by implementing proven predictive and preventative maintenance processes. They also ensure responsive and proactive maintenance support to all plant operations partners by implementing sound work management processes. The PPMS is responsible for professional and technical development of assigned hourly associates.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Champions safety in every aspect of the position
  • Ensures environmental systems process awareness and compliance
  • Responsible for employee onboarding process
  • Takes responsibility, and is held accountable for, ensuring the following information is entered, documented, and tracked electronically: Time Sheets, Overtime, Scheduling, Technical data, Work Order management, SAP-PM time confirmations, and craftsmen feedback
  • Work closely with engineering, production, and other departments, at all levels of supervision, throughout the plant in making estimates, determining priorities, scheduling, and managing shop personnel.
  • Will be required to assist in troubleshooting and root cause failure analysis within the web-based failure analysis system (FRACAS)
  • Performs purchasing duties as needed through effective and efficient interface with Storeroom and Procurement personnel
  • Evaluates and manages the collection of job feedback to improve future work
  • Must demonstrate good communication skills throughout the organization
  • Writes and reviews purchase requisitions, reviews, and approves job invoices, audits invoices and VMI activities.
  • Manages spend in the maintenance department within approved budgets
  • Manages Contractors as needed
  • Plans and executes those areas of the Reliability Roadmap that fall under his/her purview.
  • Leads, manages, and coordinates all activities of the on-site SKF representative.
  • Fulfills duties and responsibilities of Head of Maintenance on assigned weekends.
  • Identifies/Executes Continuous Improvement Programs, acts as a change agent.
  • Resolves all shop floor issues and executes all company policies
  • Facilitates Preventative Maintenance and Predictive Maintenance best practices
  • Supports Spring Grove Site Compressed Air Systems
  • Oversees the operation of their Shop to ensure efficiency of scheduling and execution of work, coordination of installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of all mill equipment under their control.
  • Reviews and continuously upgrades employee skills to meet the demands of new technology which are a critical part of this applicant’s responsibility and the cross functional learning to elevate the shop as a fully multi-craft shop.
  • Must be able to handle deadlines, variable workloads, and have availability 24-hours when needed.
  • Maintaining, developing, and monitoring mill systems, including ISO requirements.
  • Attends and participates in the appropriate training for the use of fire extinguishing equipment and notification procedures should a small, containable fire ignite in the work area.
  • Serves as a member of the Pixelle Industrial Fire Team to mitigate risk and escalation of fires within the facility and provides assistance required by your craft, as laid out in the Fire Team Handbook.
  • Reviews and accepts all other duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Applicant must have obtained either a Journeyman level certification or comparable associate degree with experience in servicing complex rotating mechanical systems and an understanding of lubrication best practices and mechanical energy transfer.
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in an industrial environment.
  • Required to earn MLT1 within 1 year of start date and MLT2 within 2 years of start date.
  • Required to earn Certification for Vibration Analyst Category 1 within 1 year of start date and Vibration Analyst Category 2 within 2 years of start date.
  • Must have above average communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Adept computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, centralized databases, email, etc.
  • SAP, SAP-PM or other CMMS software experience is preferred.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
  • Knowledge of safety hazards and appropriate precautions applicable to work assignments.
  • Ability to wear respirator safety equipment
  • Ability to wear protective clothing as required by prevailing conditions
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply information from files, drawings, catalogs, reports, and manuals.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; taste or smell; the employee is frequently required to sit; the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.  The vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus and the ability to wear appropriate vision protection.  The noise level in the work environment requires the use of appropriate hearing protection.
