Bristol Bay Construction Holdings LLC (BBCH) is growing! We are seeking a talented Site Safety and Health Officer to join our dynamic team at Herman Construction Group, Inc., a subsidiary of BBCH.

This role will involve managing the entire construction site, supervising the field team, monitoring craft workers and subcontractors, and making sure the project is completed safely, promptly, and to a high standard. Work covered by contract the scope of work for the Mule Creek State Prison Fire Alarm Replacement Fire. Suppression Repair (FARFSR) Project includes the design and construction to repair or replace the existing non-operational fire alarm system and/or components, in order to provide a fully operational fire alarm system, as required by the CDCR and Office of the State Fire Marshal. The fire suppression repair consists of the repair of known deficiencies in the sprinkler heads, risers, valves, and switches. It also includes conducting the five-year NFPA 25 inspection, testing, and maintenance of the overhead fire suppression system and providing written reports of the findings. The results of that testing will determine other repairs not covered by the Work needed to bring the fire suppression system into compliance. The DBE will perform this added work through the issuance of change orders approved by the CDCR, funded through the allowance allocated within the Stipulated Sum.

Compensation:

$105,000 - $125,000 yearly

Responsibilities:
  • Perform safety and occupational health management, surveillance, inspections, site safety orientation, activity-specific training, and enforcement for the Contractor
  • Conduct daily safety and health inspections, maintain a written log which includes the date of inspection, area/operation inspected, identified hazards, recommended corrective actions, estimated and actual dates of corrections
  • Attach safety inspection logs to the Contractors' daily quality control report
  • Maintain the OSHA Form 300 and Daily Production reports for prime and sub-contractors
  • Conduct mishap investigations and complete required reports
  • Maintain applicable safety reference material on the job site
  • Attend the pre-construction conference, pre-work meetings including preparatory inspection meetings, and periodic in-progress meetings
  • Implement and enforce accepted APPs and AHAs
  • Maintain a safety and health deficiency tracking system that monitors outstanding deficiencies until resolution, then post a list of unresolved safety and health deficiencies on the site safety bulletin board
  • Ensure sub-contractor compliance with safety and health requirements
  • Maintain a list of hazardous chemicals on-site and their material safety data sheets
Qualifications:
  • OSHA 30 CPR/First Aid/AED EM-385-1-1 40hr
