Come join our team as the Controller to support our Finance and Accounting teams. This remote position will supports the CFO with accounting related functions including monthly reporting and account reconciliations, preparing financial statements, accounting analysis, budgeting, accounts payable, and assisting with financial

audits.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger
    structure of Climate First Bank;
  • Assist the CFO with directing the Bank's accounting functions to include establishing and
    maintaining its accounting principles and practices;
  • Prepared and maintain the operating budget for the organization;
  • Monitor accounts payable to ensure that invoices are accurately posted;
  • Ensure vendor due diligence is performed in accordance with policy;
  • Monitor system controls for ensuring data integrity and confidentiality at all times as it relates to
    financial reporting;
  • Serve as a liaison to functional leadership across the organization, assisting them with
    accounting related service issues;
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements;
  • Review and post journal entries and ensure monthly account reconciliations and analyses are
    completed in a timely manner;
  • Coordinate the preparation of external audits.
  • Adopt and practice a commitment to social, economic, environmental, and racial justice;

  • Possess the initiative to obtain education related to ESG and sustainability practices;
  • Avoid using single-use plastics; recycle diligently; conserve water and energy in office spaces;
    use local suppliers when possible, particularly those that are ESG compliant;
  • Demonstrate an understanding of and follow established Bank policies, procedures, and
    regulations, cognizant of transactions, inquiries that appear suspicious, obtaining reasonable
    and verifiable explanations, notifying the Compliance Officer when necessary; completion of all
    web-based compliance training; resolution of all issues concerning BSA report reviews of
    suspicious activity and or cash transactions.


Specific Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or a related field;
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a financial institution;
  • Detail oriented with solid problem solving and analytical skills;
  • Effective organizational, written, and communication skills

Physical Demands:

  • Sustained standing and sitting;
  • Frequent use of PC, including typing or sustained attention to monitor;
  • Occasional lifting of basic office files or equipment up to 20 lbs.
