Driver Class A

HPC-Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, in Reserve, LA is looking for a CDL Class A to join their safety conscious team! The Class A CDL Driver is responsible for performing duties associated with shutdown work at refineries, chemical plants, power plants, and supporting other industrial customers.  Depending on location, drivers may be asked to perform the duties of a field technician if a business needs to warrant it.

 Key Responsibilities: 

• Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner.
• Ability to perform industrial tank cleaning, utility work, facility shutdowns, emergency response, site remediation.
• Ability to be on call for Emergency Response (rotation schedule will vary by branch);
• Ability to travel out of town for two weeks or more (Project Based);
• Ability to maintain daily logs, expense reports, trip reports, vehicle inspection reports and dispatch.

Working Environment:

• Chemical Plant and Refineries, some remote locations.

Physical demands:

• Must be able to wear protective clothing or equipment.  This includes, but is not limited to Nomex coveralls, a back belt, slicker suits, rubber boots, a fresh air breathing mask & escape pack & a hard hat.
• Must be able to work under extreme climate conditions (excessive high heat index of 95+ degrees Fahrenheit, 98% humidity & subzero weather conditions) relative to geographic location.
• Must be able to withstand exposure to dust, chemical & environmental, fumes (chemical & fluids), exhaust & highly pressurized fluids.
• Lift 50 lbs.

What does it take to work for HPC-Industrial? 

• Class A CDL License Required;
• High School Diploma or equivalent required;
• Ability to obtain a Hazmat Endorsement upon hire;
• Tanker Endorsement required;
• Ability to work in all types of weather conditions;
• Ability to travel overnight based on what business dictates;

• Minimum of one-year, verifiable service within the commercial trucking industry.
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
• Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses and maintenance.
• Strong knowledge in the operation of equipment used in commercial transportation.
• CDL Class A with Haz-mat and Tanker endorsement and an acceptable driving record.
• Smartphone required for Electronic Logging Device.
• Complete understanding of DOT’s safety program & standards.
• Possess excellent communications and human relations skills.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience troubleshooting transportation equipment is preferred.
• TWIC card within 30 days of hire
