Description

  • Takes orders from guests and beverage orders from servers
  • Assumes table service as necessary in bar area
  • Follows approved recipes and measured pouring at all times
  • Knowledgeable about every alcohol and ingredient behind the bar, including all food and wine menus
  • Maintain a pleasant, safe and family friendly atmosphere in var area at all times
  • Operate outdoor/event bar duties as scheduled
  • Attend regular mandatory bar trainings and adhere to policies and techniques covered
  • Maintains a guest focus while performing duties
  • Record drink orders accurately and immediately after receipt into register system
  • Accept guest payment, process credit card charges and make change (if applicable)
  • Wash and sterilize glassware
  • Prepare garnishes for drinks and replenish snacks for bar patrons
  • Clear and reset tables in bar area
  • Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas
  • Run/receive and serve food orders to guests seated at the bar
  • Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to the Food and Beverage Manager
  • Assists the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies
  • Responsible for all culinary prep daily, prepared in a sanitary and professional manner
  • Knowledge of all specialty cocktails, daily specials and seasonal bar items
  • Responsible for adhering to ABC regulations and established policies and procedures regarding any and all alcoholic beverage sales.
  • Adheres to department checklists, par sheets, daily cleaning lists, side work etc.
  • Documents and reports any guest behavior that is deemed unruly or threatening
  • Follows closing procedures including coordinating the closing of the building with HVLA security.
  • Maintaining all necessary and/or required certifications and trainings, including ABC, ServeSafe and any other as required by HVLA.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma/GED, Minimum of 2 years related experience and/or training

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
