Our home health and hospice care TEAM is currently seeking an intern to support in administrative tasks for critically ill patients. As an intern, you'll play a vital role in offering compassionate care and support to our patients and their families during their challenging journey.

 

This is an Unpaid Internship


Responsibilities:

  • Perform general office clerk duties and errands.
  • Provide administrative support to coordinate internal meetings, interviews, and workshops.
  • Answer a multiple line phone system, manage calls by routing them to the proper extensions or taking messages and delivering them within our message system along with setting up conference calls as requested.
  • IDG Meeting Attendance: Participate in Interdisciplinary Group (IDG) meetings to offer valuable insights on patient and family status, contributing to comprehensive care planning.
  • Patient and Family Reporting: Maintain detailed records on patients and families to facilitate effective communication and coordination among caregivers.
  • Office Support: Assist the administrative team with tasks such as filing, data entry, and answering calls to ensure smooth operations and enhance the hospice care experience.
  • Companionship: Provide warmth and comfort to patients and their families through friendly conversations, attentive listening, and companionship during this difficult time.


Requirements:

  • Genuine empathy and willingness to provide emotional support.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and staff.
  • Respect for patient confidentiality and privacy.
  • Reliability and commitment to fulfilling assigned tasks.
  • Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions.
  • Previous caregiving or related experience is preferred but not required.
  • Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate patient and family needs.
