PROGRAM MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION
DEPARTMENT: Wings of The Harbor, Transitional Living Program, 1114 Court St, Port Huron MI 48060
HOURS: 40 hours per week including day and evening hours and some weekends. Exact schedule is arranged with the Director of Runaway and Homeless Youth Programs.
REQUIREMENTS: Must have one of the following: (a) A bachelor’s degree and 2 years of work experience in a child caring institution (b) Two years of college and 3 years of work experience in a child caring institution (c) A high school diploma and 4 years of work experience in a child caring institution. TB test results, 3 professional references, consent to criminal and child abuse/neglect background checks.
SUPERVISED BY: Director of Runaway and Homeless Youth Programs
SUPERVISES: Advocates and Transitional Living Specialists
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises and evaluates all Transitional Living Specialists and volunteers.
- Responsible for training of direct care staff and fulfills all duties of an Intervention Specialists.
- Provide supervision and direction to Transitional Living Specialists.
- Approve or deny time off requests for Transitional Living Specialists and assure for adequate coverage 24-hours a day, 365 days a year.
- Responsible for completing the 90-day and annual evaluation process for all new Transitional Living Specialists.
- Meet regularly with Director to review staff and agency concerns, evaluations, and needs.
- Interview applicants and coordinate employees during hiring and termination process.
- Responsible for completing monthly paperwork as assigned by the Director of RHY.
- Responsible for overseeing petty cash, recreation cash, checkbook balancing, monthly bills, and household accounts.
- Assist in maintaining health and fire standards; licensing rules, nutritional and medical needs; building maintenance and care.
- Hold staff meetings, trainings, and management meetings.
- Assist with fundraising/grant writing and special projects as assigned.
- Review and sign off on all staff training report forms as mandated by licensing.
- Address concerns of parents and community members as needed.
- Sign and mail all required paperwork, as in donation letters.
