Registered Dietitian 2 - Full-time

Unit Description:

Sodexo is seeking a Registered Dietitian for DeSoto Independent School District in DeSoto, Texas, just 15 miles south of downtown Dallas. The ideal candidate will have some School Nutrition experience and familiarity with the National School Lunch Program guidelines.  This is a fulltime, year-round position.

This is a projected opening and a contingent offer will be made.

 

DeSoto, TX is known for its tight-knit, socially- and civically-engaged and active community, beautiful parks, and robust arts-focused programs which bring visual and performing arts alive for city residents. Serving students from early childhood through graduation, DeSoto ISD’s mission is to ensure students, without exception, learn and grow at their highest level. DeSoto ISD serves 6,400 students across 10 campuses, covering 23 square miles.

 

The successful candidate will:

• be responsible for menu planning and nutritional analysis;
• be responsible for special diets required by the district and work closely with school nurses, students and families;  
• work with nutrition issues related to food allergies, weight management and disordered eating patterns and other medical issues requiring meal selection assistance;
• provide direction for planning strategic goals, standards of the brand and maintaining effective communication with other managers and inter-department liaisons;
• establish and execute Client and Sodexo operating standards;
• maintain and develop client relationships and client satisfaction for nutrition services; and
• stay current with most recent nutrition-related trends, research, policy, certifications, and standards of practice.

• have familiarity with USDA regulations and processes as related to the National School Lunch Program;
• show proven history of working as a self-starter, with strong demonstrated ability to work independently;

Qualifications & Requirements:

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor's Degree

Basic Functional Experience - 1 year work experience in health care including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted or independent living facilities, long-term care, retirement homes, or clinics + registered dietitian
