Summary

Triages all emergency or unscheduled phone and face-to-face contacts during assigned shifts to determine level of care warranted, and to provide crisis intervention services as needed under immediate supervision. Performs admission screening and procedures including the completion of all designated paperwork. Presents client information to the interdisciplinary treatment team and communicates behavioral interventions to Mental Health Technicians.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Ensures that all crisis situations are appropriately assessed and ensures that appropriate levels of service needs are arranged
  • Works as treatment team member utilizing all available resources
  • Provides and completes all required paper work in a timely manner
  • Ensures that peace officers and local providers (i.e. Physicians, hospital staff) are advised of proper procedures to obtain crisis intervention services
  • Completes Emergency Order of Detention (EOD) documentation (if applicable)Provides linkage to available resources
  • Documents all situations according to procedures
  • Attends staff meetings, workshops and seminars to learn agency policy, rules, regulations and procedures; participates in ongoing in-service training as well as pertinent external training
  • Maintains core competencies in relation to working with co-occurring disorders through continuing education and implementing skills into all aspects of programming
  • Supports and assists with the facilitation of Care Plans for consumers within the Red Rock Health Team
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Certified as a Behavioral Health Care Manager II (BHCMII)
    Or
  • Have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education or a behavioral health related field earned from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Complete all required training
  • Two or more years working with community services, health agencies as well as low income and minority consumers with an understanding of cultural diversity a plus
