River Valley Holdings is a family-owned distribution company based in Syracuse, NY, serving retail customers across the northeastern United States. The River Valley family of companies: River Valley Foods, Cavallaro Foods and Garden Spot Foods, distributes a wide range of specialty dry and frozen grocery items and consumable products out of warehouses in Syracuse, NY and New Holland, PA.


General Description/Purpose:

We are seeking a full-time talented and motivated Business Analyst. The Business Analyst conducts various analytical functions to support the organization. The focus of this position will be to support management by generating sales and operational analytics and special projects as required. This position supports senior management’s business planning functions.


Work Schedule:

  • This position is full-time and offers a hybrid work model with a combination of in-office and remote work. The specific arrangement will be discussed with the successful candidate.


Wages:

  • $22.00 - $26.00 per hour


Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategies to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and profitability
  • Perform data discovery, analysis, and modeling
  • Develops and maintains reporting tools
  • Creates reports and visualizations to help team understand business performance
  • Prepares data for both internal and external use
  • Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights to help drive business decisions
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement
  • Understands the business objectives of the company and works to identify solutions to business issues
  • Works with department managers to generate information to form solutions needed to improve our service
  • Acts as interface between various departments within the organization to improve business productivity
  • Completes assigned projects and tasks thoughtfully, accurately, and on time
  • Completes special projects as business needs require


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to form effective solutions to improve the business financials with passion for data driven decision making.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to collect, organize, analyze, and publish significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and business analysis tools/software
  • Highly proficient in Excel including use and creation of pivot tables, formulas, and manipulating large amounts of data
  • High level of integrity
  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a group setting.
  • Must demonstrate excellent time management and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to prioritize and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Experience in Microsoft Business Central/Navision/Microsoft Dynamics software environment a plus.


Education:

  • Associate degree preferred
