Crude Pipeline Operator

CORPORATE SUMMARY

Salt Creek Midstream (SCM) is a greenfield midstream company built to provide a full suite of midstream services and downstream solutions to producers in the Delaware Basin. SCM leverages fundamental and intra-basin knowledge to optimize the value of producer resources, reduce bottlenecks and deliver higher netbacks to the producer.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Crude Oil Pipeline Operator is responsible for operating LACT units on customer locations. Inspects and makes equipment adjustments as directed/needed; controls product flow, ensures product quality, and maintains the record-keeping system to monitor operations. Report to the Lead Pipeline Operator. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform work at the producer locations and crude terminals.
  • Operates and maintains SCM LACT units and equipment.
  • Performs oil sample grind outs to ensure the crude oil is within spec.
  • Witness monthly LACT unit meter provings within assigned area.
  • Maintains liquid storage tank operations (e.g., maximum fill rates, operating pressures, overpressure protection, inventory, product characteristics).
  • Performs work permit composition, including general and hot work permits, lock-out tag out.
  • Assists in the maintenance and repair of pipelines and associated facilities and equipment.
  • Understand typical drawings and other documentation related to pipeline facilities, including process flow diagrams, pipeline alignment sheets, and other related documentation.
  • Coordinates and performs facility inspections on a routine basis.
  • Perform waste management activities.
  • Participates in excavation awareness programs and maintains relations with emergency responders near pipeline rights of way.
  • Respond to operational emergencies as a member of an Area Emergency Response Team.
  • Performs other jobs as required for relief assignments.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Other skills required:
    1. Must have good organizational skills, excellent attention to detail.
      1. Good customer relation skills with the ability to interface with landowners and other corporate and field personnel.
        1. Work indoors and outdoors in and around industrial and electrical equipment.
        2. Work in temperature extremes due to weather conditions and operating equipment.
        3. Uses physical force to lift, push, pull and hold equipment and tools.
          1. Climbs and works at various heights and may work in a standing, sitting, lying down, crouched, or kneeling position.
          2. Routinely reacts to visual, aural, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to inspect work visually.
            1. May work in confined spaces (i.e., tanks, between compressors, vessels).
