Schaefer Sign Works, located in Indianapolis IN, is seeking an apprentice Sign Maker to join our expanding team.
Experience with Printed and Vinyl Cut Graphics would be a plus but not required.
Sign Making Professional with 2+ Years of Hands on experience would be plus but not required.
Experience utilizing the latest in computer-controlled printers and graphic cutters would be a plus but not required.
Must be self-motivated to learn new technologies, software, and systems.
Detail oriented, works well in a fast-paced team environment and is able to efficiently manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Self-motivated team player with great interpersonal skills and values delivering continuous product quality excellence.
Self-confident and is not afraid to show their professional ability, creative genius and, most importantly, have fun!

Responsibilities
- Sign design and production
- Full-time availability (40 hours/week)
- Answer phones inquiries as a sign professional
- Consult/interface with customers to ensure meeting quality and scope expectations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of manufacturing/production area
- Assist in maintaining company signage equipment
- Accurately keep track of electronic and paper records related to jobs
- Willingness to do outdoor, customer location, and vehicle, as well as "in shop", fabrication and installations.
- Comfortable working from ladder or at heights
- Must have flexibility to lean over waist-high table and use back and forth hand motions to apply vinyl letters and graphics to substrate.
- Ability to use power tools
- Learn new technologies, skills, and techniques to become a better sign making professional
- 2+ years of experience as a professional sign maker design and production
- Background in vinyl creation and application
- Large format digital printing
- Layout and creative design experience
- Expertise in using Adobe Design tool suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
- Experience with RIP software
- Physical ability to layout, manipulate and cut materials on large format worktables
- Vehicle wrap installation
- Experience with installing dimensional letters, channel letters, or monuments.
- Knowledgeable in color management
- Driver license
