AGP is currently seeking dynamic Plant Operations Manager in Manning, IA! This leadership position maintains a cost effective and safe facility while directing the short and long-term operations/objectives of the facility. A key objective for this role is to coordinate efforts between plant management and executive management.


Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily plant activities through training employees, determining methods for employee work, scheduling, and conducting employee performance appraisals.
  • Oversee maintenance of plant inventory including product storage inspection, product and part purchase approval, and product transportation coordination.
  • Monitor and maintain facility cleanliness, safety, and quality control.
  • Review and report financial, operations, and production data.
  • Develop, plan, and execute the capital and expense budgets for the facility.
  • Ensure plant’s activities comply with all governing laws and regulations.
  • Select, recommend, evaluate, and approve internal candidates for positions within the plant.
  • Collaboration with other working groups to ensure efficient and accurate operations.


Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of supervisory experience.
  • 5+ years of processing or related field experience.
  • Knowledge of PSM, NFPA, OSHA, and EPA regulations pertaining to plant operations.
  • Knowledge of supervisory techniques to accomplish instruction, training, and motivation of employees.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with process automation and controls.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical thinking skills.
  • Proven ability to remain flexible and responsive when faced with multiple priorities and requests.
  • Ability to work with diverse individuals and groups.
  • Aptitude to make sound and timely decisions with the information available.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Business acumen experience.
  • Knowledge of rail & truck logistics, coupled with inventory management.
