Our Customer Service Representative provide prompt, efficient, and friendly service to customers, open new accounts, and respond to customers' needs with suggestions appropriate to the Bank's products and services. Additionally, they follow the established policies and procedures for this area, in accordance with compliance requirements and the supervisor's direction.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent service to customers in person or by phone. Explains various services and products available and assists with selection.
  • Opens all types of new accounts: checking, savings, CD's, IRA's, savings bonds, safety deposit boxes, etc. Close accounts as needed.
  • File account related documentation
  • Assist customers with safety deposit box access.
  • Process CD or IRA account distributions
  • Process orders for checks, ATM, and debit cards
  • Produce and process customer correspondence.
  • Research customer problems and relay solutions. Utilize account imaging and microfiche as needed. Resolve customer disputes with debit card or account transactions.
  • Help customers understand charges to accounts; may assist customers with check book or explaining NSF charges.
  • Maintain accurate and current signature cards.
  • Monitor competitor banks' interest rates
  • Assist with locating and correcting errors, outages, or unposted accounts.
  • Assist with training for new employees.
  • May assist with accounts payable, processing general ledger tickets, producing reports, and balancing internal accounts.
  • Provide backup to receptionist, teller, or any other customer service area as needed.
  • Participate in a team effort to cross-sell bank and affiliate services.
  • Complete all required training.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of banking, cash handling, retail, and/or customer service experience or an equivalent combination of secondary education is preferred.
