About the role

Essential Functions

• Lead and manage the miner maintenance teams, including hiring and development at the new Corsicana facility.
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies:
• Create comprehensive maintenance plans that include preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for mining equipment.
• Manage the balance of in-house versus outsourced repairs to ensure optimal fleet management and minimized cost.
• Manage inventory of spare parts: Oversee the inventory of spare parts and equipment, ensuring that critical components are readily available for quick repairs and minimal downtime.
• Work closely with hardware vendors and contractors for the procurement of parts, warranty claims, and outsourcing of specialized maintenance tasks.
• Lead the development of key performance metrics.
• Lead innovative utilization and application of current technologies for maintenance management; keep abreast of the latest developments in bitcoin mining technology and best practices in hardware maintenance.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Inventory and other technical teams to develop and sustain task/project hand-off procedures and update deployment and utilization guidelines.
• Develop leaders within the teams – identify opportunities for training, development, and growth so that the team can continue to scale with the company.
• Develop and manage the budget for maintenance operations, ensuring cost-effective spending.
• Identify trends in equipment failures and collaborate across departments to identify root cause and mitigation opportunities.
• Maintain short term and long-term schedules/targets and report on the status to management.

• Highly developed interpersonal and organizational skills and demonstrated ability to develop a team.
• Experience in process engineering and process improvement.
• Demonstrated leadership/management skills and the ability to provide direction and guidance to a broad and diverse population of trade technicians.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to articulate technical objectives and processes effectively to varied audiences.
• Ability to mentor and develop personnel to promote technical competency and professional growth.
• Proven experience in leading and managing successful technical teams is crucial.

• Fundamental understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking is crucial.
  
• Advanced knowledge in business management, operations, and strategic planning.
• Proficiency in managing large-scale IT projects, including data centers, networking, and security.
• Hands-on experience with setting up and operating mining rigs, understanding of mining algorithms, and familiarity with industry standards.
• Experience in strategic planning, financial modeling, and operational efficiency in the context of mining operations.
• Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with bitcoin mining, including security risks and market volatility.
