Job Description
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Plant Manager this position oversees the inventory of all electrical equipment on the property. The Inventory Lead assists in overseeing and developing the inventory team operations and processes.
Responsibilities:
- Oversite of all incoming and outgoing loads in the inventory warehouse.
- Ensuring equipment is loaded and unloaded in a safe, timely, and efficient manner.
- Perform quality tests on transformers and bushings using TTR testing equipment.
- Facilitating the Reuse program by inspecting and selecting units that are available for reuse and maintaining the inventory records.
- Communicate with manufacturer to fulfill inventory needs.
- Work with office employees involving invoicing and billing questions relating to inventory.
- Work with the transportation manager to coordinate shipments.
- Develop operating procedures and provide training to the inventory team.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong customer service and communication skills for both internal and external customers.
- Ability to work independently and problem solve.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Able to manage amounts of data.
Education and Experience:
- High School or equivalent.
- Experience with Microsoft Suite Software including Excel.
- 1-2 years of inventory control experience preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift, carry, and push and/or pull 50-pounds at a time.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Walking, bending, tagging, and lifting inventory units.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work some Saturdays and overtime when needed.
- Must be able to work inside and/or outside and be exposed to all weather elements, including extreme heat, wind, rain, snow, and freezing temperatures.
- Must be able to work in conditions that are exposed to loud noise, heavy vibration, dust, exhaust fumes, and around hazardous and/or non-hazardous materials.
