Job Title: Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Physician (PM&R)

Location: Westerly, East Greenwich and East Providence, Rhode Island

University Orthopedics is currently seeking a PM&R Physician with fellowship training in Pain or Interventional Spine and Musculoskeletal Medicine. Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients with musculoskeletal and other physical impairments.
  • Diagnose and provide non-operative treatment of traumatic, degenerative and sports-related injuries to the axial and appendicular musculoskeletal system, primarily spinal conditions like degenerative disc disease/spondylosis, spinal canal stenosis, radiculopathy, facet joint arthropathy and sacroiliac joint arthropathy.
  • Provide a variety of interventional treatment options, including epidural steroid injections, procedures to the axial and appendicular joints including radiofrequency ablation, ultrasound guided procedures and peripheral nerve blocks.
  • Perform and interpret EMG’s.
  • Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment options, and strategies for managing symptoms.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop systems of care and provide comprehensive management.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including patient histories, examination findings, diagnoses, treatment plans, and progress notes.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) and completion of a residency program in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in PM&R.
  • Fellowship training in Pain or Interventional Spine and Musculoskeletal Medicine
  • State medical license.
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
