Position Summary

Come help create BoujieMana, a brand-new restaurant located in central San Diego! Sitting amongst apartments and office buildings, we will serve both the public, and provide support to TCWGlobal by preparing meals (basic catering style) 3 times a week for 125+ employees. BoujieMana has it alla full bar, VIP room, indoor and outdoor seating, and a training/event center with a capacity of 120 people. There is abundant nighttime and weekend parking, and while space is limited during office hours, there is still plenty of street parking. The price point will be on the higher end with the restaurants commitment to utilizing quality ingredients and maintaining a curated menu for all three meals of the day.


We are searching for a diligentBusserto assist and support our serving staff at BoujieMana. Upon arrival, this individual will serve guests bread, butter, and waterproviding refills as needed. The busser will be responsible for setting tables, removing tableware between courses, and clearing and resetting tables after guests leave. They will help guarantee that restaurant supplies and equipment are clean and maintained. They will assist customers with requests or complaints when needed. To ensure success as a busser, you should be highly organized and have a keen eye for detail. A skilled busser should be good with their hands, highly efficient, and be able to provide a great level of customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Primary:

  • Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of Boujiemana
  • Set tables with clean linens, condiments, and other supplies
  • Clear tables after guests; wipe tables or seats with dampened cloths and replace dirty tablecloths
  • Promptly clean tabletops, chairs, booths, and the floor under and around the tables between guests
  • Remove used tableware between courses and provide tableware for next course
  • Respond appropriately to guest requests and complaints, communicating these to the server as needed
  • Scrape and stack dirty dishes and carry dishes and other tableware to kitchen for cleaning
  • Take soiled tableware to the designated area to unload; sort and stack silverware, dishes, and glassware for cleaning
  • Perform serving, cleaning, or stocking duties to facilitate customer service
  • Carry food, dishes, trays, or silverware from kitchens or supply areas to serving counters
  • Clean up spilled food, drink or broken dishes and remove trash
  • Serve food to guests when servers need assistance
  • Promptly greet guests as they are seated and serve ice water, coffee, rolls, or butter to guests
  • Thank guests as they leave
  • Maintain adequate supplies of items such as clean linens, silverware, glassware, dishes, or trays
  • Clean and polish counters, shelves, walls, furniture, or equipment in food service areas or other areas of the restaurant
  • Mop or vacuum floors
  • Fill beverage and/or ice dispensers
  • Stock cabinets or serving areas with condiments and refill condiment containers
  • Communicate with server and host/hostess to expedite efficient seating, table utilization, and customer service
  • Inspect assigned restroom every hour and clean as needed
  • Attend all scheduled employee meetings and offers suggestions for improvement
  • Coordinate with, and assist, fellow employees to meet guests needs and support the operation of the restaurant
  • Fill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations


Supplemental:

  • Slice and pit fruit used to garnish drinks
  • Wash glasses or other serving equipment at bars
  • Stock refrigerating units with wines and bottled beer or replace empty beer kegs
  • Carry linens to or from laundry areas

  • Carbonated and non-carbonated beverage dispenser
  • Commercial use blenders, coffee or iced tea makers, cutlery, dishwashers, food processors, food warmers, microwave ovens, garbage disposals
  • Ice dispensers
  • Soft serve machines


Qualifications & Skills

  • Work experience as a Busser, Food Runner or other entry-level role in a restaurant is a plus
  • Valid Food Handlers Card
  • Understanding of hygiene and food safety rules
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical ability and stamina to carry heavy trays and stand for long hours
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
  • A passion for customer service and working in the restaurant industry
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong verbal communication abilities
