Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Graphic Artist to join our team in the Lexington Park, MD location. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  •  Edit reports, operational procedures, and manuals.  Edit/change features in document sections, column formatting, autoformatting, creating hyperlinks, linking captions, designing forms and templates, creating citations, search and replace styles and special characters, indexing, and similar automated functions.

  • Performs technical writing assignments with minimal direct supervision.

  •  Develops materials that may not have prescribed standards.

  • Interviews production and engineering personnel to reviews technical documentation to develop the understanding required to perform writing assignments.

  • Reviews written materials and recommended revisions or changes in scope, format, and content.

  • Rewrite technical information for clarity

  • Review documents to ensure compliance and continuity with style guidelines. 

  • Participates in developing and writes a variety of technical, reports, software User manuals, and/or manuals for documentation for a wide range of uses.

  • Responsible for reviewing content of technical documentation for quality and produces technical illustrations for presentations and/or publication, as appropriate to the requirements.

  • Coordinates the display of graphics and the production of the document.

  • Responsible for maintaining Service Catalog

  • Ensures content is of high quality and conforms with standards.

  • Manage document version control for frequently updated documents. 

  • Use online resources and collaborative environments in the production of documents.

  • Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation. 

  • Write correspondence such as a cover letter summarizing all recommended change. 

  • Ensure technical documentation is accurate, complete, meets editorial and government specifications and adheres to standards for quality, graphics, coverage, format, and style. 

  • Provide design support to ensure communications and collateral adhere to strict brand guidelines. 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree

  • A minimum of five years of related technical publication work experience

  • A minimum of three years of demonstrated experience in Arbor Text software.

  • A minimum of three years of demonstrated experience directly related to military aircraft technical data products and manuals.

  • Familiarity with manipulating Scalable Vector Graphic (SVG) files.

  • Must have proficiency with graphics illustration software tools.

  • Knowledge of graphic resolution for insertion into documentation  

  • Experience producing technical documents either in a program office, on a proposal team, or as a technical writer. 

  • Experience with built-in editors and graphics software in collaborative software applications 

  • Experience with XML authoring tool experience to include authoring and editing chapters. 

  • Must have attention to detail with ability to accurately proofread and perform QA on technical data.

  • Must be able to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills; must be able to multitask, prioritize and manage deadlines.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, effective decision-making. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in S-1000-D formatting

  • Experience with testing, troubleshooting, and resolving hardware, software, relating to XML editing software. 

  • Experience with Process Improvement identification, research, and drafting resolution proposals.

  • Experience with managing a file repository. 

  • Familiarity with Multimedia Designing for interactive modules. 

  • Experience tracking editor and graphic illustrator tasking using collaboration tools.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.

  • Frequent communication with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.

  • Move about freely in an office / laboratory setting.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance required to start. 

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
