About This Role:

Favor TechConsulting, LLC (FTC)a wholly owned subsidiary of Tria Federal (Tria)seeking an energetic, communicative, intelligent, and motivated SQL developer. Superior communication and collaboration skills are essential to this role. The candidate will be someone who has done analysis and reporting work in addition to DB focused development, either for applications or for DB-oriented tasks that require very complex queries and stored procedures. We want the ability to understand the data model we have, analyze and communicate findings, as well as build queries and processes for automating reports or data loading. This position involves working with complex financial and health care claims data. The ideal candidate will have a knowledge of VA and Community Care and EDI transactions.

Responsibilities:

  • Be an advocate for our VA customer stakeholders and the ultimate beneficiaries of our solution - our Nation's Veterans
  • Perform complex analysis, design, development, testing, and debugging of computer software
  • Maintain responsibility for activities that range from software design, coding, unit testing, and orchestration
  • Participate as an active member of the scrum team, providing input to team velocity and sprint ceremonies, planning, demonstrations, and retrospectives
  • Apply knowledge of one or more systems and one or more platforms and programming languages, including SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting.
  • Back-end development experience and program extraction, transformation, standardization, aggregation, and mining of data for the repository utilizing SQL to run queries and perform research on data in the database and on incoming data
  • Communicate with the customer and other VA partners about discoveries from research, communicate with fellow team members about potential defects and data quality
  • Other duties as assigned by project leadership

The "Need-to-Have" Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience with MSSQL Server, SQL Reporting Services, SQL,
  • Experience working in a cloud environment such as AWS is desired
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum Methodology
  • Knowledge of creating and maintaining tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and triggers
  • Experience working with a cross-functional team

Bachelor's Degree (Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required)

8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education

  • Background with Java/Full stack web development
  • Background with Systems Engineering/DevOps
  • Background with various applications servers is a plus, including Tomcat, JBOSS, WebLogic, WebSphere, Glassfish
  • Background with FHIR, Java, SOAP, SQL Server 2014/2016
  • Background with web-service development, in SOAP/XML, REST, JSON, WSDL
  • Background using Redgate tools, GIT, Gradle, Maven, Jenkins, Hibernate and Spring and/or Spring Boot
  • Background in developing electronic health record systems is a plus
