**Truck Driver**

**Location:** Plymouth, NC

**Position Description:**

The truck driver will perform a variety of routine and complex transportation work in driving and maintenance of his/her assigned truck.

***PREFER that truck driver also has experience operating a dozer and loader***

**Job Duties:**

* Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on truck and/or truck- trailer combo

* Operate wheel loader to load truck (check box if applicable: )

* Evaluate mechanical condition of vehicle and report any problems or potential problems to supervisor immediately

* Add fluids or air and lubricate truck as needed or specified by supervisor

* Secure all loads before transport

* Operate truck in a safe, professional manner

* Follow designated routes assigned by supervisor

* Be aware of road conditions and avoid heavily congested areas when possible

* Follow all applicable traffic laws

* Follow Field Supervisors instructions on how and where to unload in the field

* Perform walk-around of truck and/or truck-trailer combo between stops

* Predict fuel usage, schedule and execute refueling including DEF to maximize productivity

* Follow accident and/or spill procedures if an accident and/or spill occurs

* Keep truck and associated equipment clean, including the inside, and in good working order

* Identify changing conditions and adjust accordingly

* Interact with staff, clients and customers in a professional manner

* Demonstrate knowledge of and commitment to safety

* Ensure that all Federal and State laws, and OSHA safety regulations are followed

* Ensure that all company policies and procedures are followed

* Other duties may be assigned as needed

**Qualifications:**

Must be able to communicate effectively. Requires a thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving. Must exhibit skill and safety in the operation of various transportation vehicles to include, but not limited to: dump trucks, pickup trucks, utility trucks, street sweepers and front end loaders. Knowledge of compressors, generators, common hand and power tools, shovels, wrenches, detection devices, mobile radio, telephone and hand tools used in the maintenance of vehicles is required. Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors, clients, customers and the general public.
