Job Description
  • Responsible for locating and removing in process and raw material to and from workstations and various departments
  • Requires issuing and receiving material through computers and handwritten paperwork
  • Must be able to operate mobile, mechanical equipment in compliance with OSHA standards
  • Drive a stand-up Raymond, tugger, operate a forklift truck, side loader, barrel dollies, and sometimes use an overhead crane
  • Operate a skid wrapper machine
  • Responsible for completing inventory transactions and maintaining accurate inventories
  • Load and unload trucks by forklift or side loader and keep required documentation
  • Maintain Kanban board within department
  • Ability to train, instruct and assist trainees through the training period
  • Use of judgment to plan, perform and make decisions for optimal workflow
  • Troubleshoot inventory discrepancies
  • Proceed on work assignments with minimum supervision and assistance
  • Maintain a high degree of safety and quality
  • Must work alone or in a team environment
  • Ability to work within high performance team guidelines (HPT)
  • Perform safety checklist on equipment regularly
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor
  • Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures, and in a manner, that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment
  • Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk
  • Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately
  • Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner
  • Work with groups in initiating and implementation of programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S projects

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Able to operate mobile, mechanical equipment in compliance with OSHA standards
  • Basic computer skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Extended periods of standing/walking for 8 hours per day
  • Must be able to work in fluctuating hot and cold work environment
