Who is LCMHA?

LCMHA (Lenawee Community Mental Health Authority) provides or manages a full array of services to adults and children with mental health and/or emotional disturbances, persons with substance use disorders, and persons with developmental disabilities. Our mission is to create a path to resilience, recovery, wellness, and self-determination for these individuals.

What would this job entail?

The Peer Recovery Coach functions in a supportive role providing education and resources to consumers with substance use disorder, exhibiting competency in personal recovery and the use of coping skills. Specifically, this individual will:

  • Assist consumers by providing links to benefits and community services;
  • Encourage and coach consumers using individual and group support contacts focused on health promotion, illness and substance use prevention, illness and addiction management, and wellness enhancing activities.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

The qualifications for this position are:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED);
  • Lived experience with a substance use disorder (SUD), and at least three years of sobriety and recovery are required;
  • Basic computer knowledge (such as familiarity with email and internet use) and experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) is highly desirable.

The annualized wage range for this position is:

  • $13,609 to $16,805 per year (for a non certified Peer Recovery Coach), or
  • $15,762 to $19,562 per year (for a CERTIFIED Peer Recovery Coach)

Each based on an average of an 18 hour work week.
