POSITION SUMMARY: This internship is designed to be both educational and practical. The Human Resources Intern will be offered a variety of learning experiences including individual mentoring from members of the HR team. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the administrative functions

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists in the recruiting and hiring process, including posting job openings, and reviewing resumes. Partners with the Sr. HR Generalist to further enhance the candidate experience, social media presence, candidate sourcing and to establish a college relations program. Supports the HR team in various initiatives surrounding talent management, including new hire orientation, on-boarding, performance management, stay and exit interviews. Reviews the Bank's position descriptions, including coordinating and updating descriptions. Contributes to HR compliance, regarding employment eligibility, confidentiality, proper maintenance of employee files, and forms management. Assists in employee benefits management and any related issues along with file maintenance. Helps plan bank events such as our Annual Wellness Day. Maintains appropriate confidentiality in dealing with corporate and employee information.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Genuine interest in learning more about the field of human resources; student Member of SHRM a plus. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Typical office environment physical demands with lifting of up to 25 pounds. Ability to travel, valid driver's license and safe driving record.

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Incoming Junior or Senior currently enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program in Business, Human Resources, or related field. Minimum 3.0 GPA.
