Break Press Operator

Location: Lawrence, MI

Position Type: Full-Time, Evaluation Hire

Pay/Salary: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour

Schedule: 1st Shift, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm

 

The Brake Press Operator sets up, loads, and removes material from the Brake Press.  The Brake Press Operator will also perform general maintenance on the equipment.  Additionally, they must ensure correct material is being used and check part dimension accuracy.

 

Responsibilities/Duties

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, including schematics. Must be able to use precision measuring instruments and gages when making calculations for bending metal.
• Program instructions into brake press for the necessary job using computer and software skills. Loads pieces of metal into the machine for shaping, straightening, aligning, and positioning the material to achieve specific shapes.
• Sets up and maintains press, keeping it in good working order. This may include changing the machine''s oil and filters and de-greasing various parts of the press. Keep work area clean, organized, and safe.

Qualifications

• 3 years of Brake Press Programming
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, including all standard welding symbols.
• Must be able to use precision measuring instruments and gages.
