Security Analyst Intern

We're looking for a Security Analyst Intern candidate with experience or interest in Information Security tooling, automation, and metrics to join our team in the Redwood City, CA office.

You will report to the Global Security Office - Sr Director Of Information Security.

You will work with our Governance, Risk and Compliance and Information Security Operations Center (SOC) teams to create automation and dashboards supporting automated reports on the security operations of our various compliance requirements.

Technology You'll Use

You will learn security and compliance tools like SIEM, Atlassian Confluence, Atlassian Jira, Wiki pages, PowerBI Reports, AuditBoard, ServiceNow, OneTrust, Centraleyes, and other SaaS tools. Candidates will have a chance to work in AWS, Azure, and On-premise environments.

Your Role Responsibilities? Here's What You'll Do

You will be primarily responsible for working with Information Security and IT teams to develop and regularly report and analyze against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for security services. Candidates will establish metrics for existing and new services and set up dashboards and metrics for ongoing security projects and programs, which may include:

• Develop, analyze, and execute security controls, defenses, and countermeasures to intercept and prevent internal or external attacks or attempts to infiltrate company email, data, e-commerce, and web-based systems.
• Assist in analyzing cybersecurity policies to control physical and virtual access to systems.
• Performs network security audits and testing and evaluates system security configurations to ensure efficacy and compliance with policies and procedures.
• Conduct penetration testing and vulnerability assessments of applications, operating systems, and networks.
• Research and evaluate cybersecurity threats.
• Assist in the creation and implementation of security solutions.
• Assist in developing and delivering highly compliant environments such as SOC2, ISO27001, HIPPA, UK cyber essentials, etc.
• Support the development of process and control improvements/automation/ consolidation opportunities.

Knowledge & Skills

• We are developing professional expertise and applying company policies and procedures to resolve various issues.
• Works on problems of moderate scope where data analysis requires a review of various factors.
• Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
• Partner within the team and build relationships with the Global Security Office (GSO) to accomplish objectives.
• Must be a junior or senior level college student, with an expected graduation of 2025 or later. Ideally you will reside in the SF Bay area or Austin TX area as you will work from our Redwood City CA or Austin TX office.
  
  This is a 12 week internship starting at the end of May or first of June 2024.
