As a Ride Operator at the Thrill Capital of New England…

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Provide guests with a safe and enjoyable ride experience
  • Oversee the safe operation of of our world class attractions 
  • Ensure attendants have done their safety checks before a ride is dispatched 
  • Entertain guests and calm their nerves as they board our world-class thrill machines
  • Push buttons and pull switches to launch attractions through the course
  • Make sure seat belts are tight, loose items are secure, and lap bars are locked to keep guests safe
  • Enforce rider restrictions and measure for height requirements
  • Assist guests in and out of ride vehicles and cycle through the line efficiently and cautiously
  • Keep ride patios and midways clean and looking great
  • Act as a first responder to ride emergencies and respond appropriately

 

 How You Will Do It:

  • Ability to work in an environment as fast-paced as our coasters 
  • After passing ride certification tests with 100% accuracy
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Friendly, outgoing personality inviting guests to your boarding station
  • Positive attitude to make guests excited about their ride
  • Must react well in stressful and emergency situations
  • Taking direction from managers and supervisors

 

 What You Will Need:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Able to meet the physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations, including walking long distances, standing for long periods of time, lifting, working at heights, etc.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; Ability to read, speak, write, and understand the English language
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and holidays

Under general supervision or the Rides Leadership team.

ERRORS/SAFETY

Errors in performance, mismanaged paperwork, or failure to adhere to and enforce Operations policies as stated in any Standard Operating Procedures Manual may result in injuries or fatalities to yourself or others and may lead to disciplinary action up to and including termination as stated in the park’s progressive discipline policy.

CONTACT WITH OTHERS

Direct and continuous interaction with guests, team members, leads, and supervisors on a daily basis.

CONFIDENTIAL DATA

Access to confidential information such as reports, park phone listings, safety checklists for attractions, etc.  High exposure to confidential data.

MENTAL OR VISUAL DEMAND

Requires normal visual and mental demand.

PHYSICAL DEMAND

  • Requires continuous sitting or standing, bending, eye/hand coordination, near vision, hearing, and speech. 
  • Requires frequent kneeling, manual dexterity, gross motor skills, and color definition. 
  • Requires using a telephone. 
  • Requires some lifting, sitting, standing, walking, bending, eye/hand coordination, near vision, hearing, and speech.

  • Must be able to stand/walk for up to 6 hours at a times and as many as 14 hours a day.

  • Must be able to lift and lower 5 lbs above shoulder level.
  • Must be able to climb a stepladder up to 6 ft. in height.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Continuously works outdoors and closely with others. 
  • Exposure to direct sunlight, dust, dirt, and /or water.
  • Must be able to function in all weather conditions for long periods of time.
